Is it safe to drive right away after the windscreen replacement?

It’s important to allow the adhesive used in a windscreen replacement to fully cure before driving. While curing typically takes around 1–2 hours, the exact time can vary depending on the adhesive type and conditions. Driving too soon can affect the bond strength and compromise your safety. Always follow the advice provided by your technician to ensure the installation is secure and the vehicle is safe to drive.

Do you come to me, or do I need to bring my vehicle to you?

Yes — Nitro Auto Glass is a fully mobile service, meaning we come to you wherever you are. Whether you’re at home, work, or on the road, our technicians provide professional windscreen and window repairs or replacements on-site. We service all areas across South East Queensland, including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Redland, Scenic Rim (Hinterland), and Somerset & Lockyer. Our goal is to make the process as convenient as possible, saving you time and getting you safely back on the road without the hassle of visiting a workshop.

How much time does it take to replace a windscreen?

In general, a standard windscreen replacement takes approximately 1 to 2 hours. This includes carefully removing the damaged glass, preparing the surface, and fitting the new windscreen to factory specifications. After installation, additional time is required for the adhesive to properly cure before driving. Depending on the adhesive type and weather conditions, this curing period can range from a few hours up to 24 hours to ensure maximum strength and safety.
